Mr. Peng has over 8 years’ experience in designing structural components & claddings against winds, surveying storm damage for a living, and fortifying structures against wind-related natural hazards. He has an in-depth understanding of current design codes and standards (e.g. ASCE 7, AISC, FBC, IBC etc.). As the lead graduate researcher in the Wind Hazard Damage Assessment Group (WHDAG) at the University of Florida, he participated in the damage surveys in the aftermath of the tornadoes at Joplin, MO (2011), Lake Placid, FL (2012), and Vero Beach, FL (2012). Besides, he has published his research in various scientific peer-reviewed journals and conferences of ASCE, AAWE, ICWE, and ATC. His areas of expertise include:
