Thomas Derby

Mr. Derby is an IAAI Certified Fire Investigator with over thirty-eight years of fire investigation experience. Mr. Derby obtained most of his experience and knowledge through thirty years with the Los Angeles Fire Department Arson / Counter Terrorism Section. Mr. Derby retired from the Arson Section in 2010 and joined the private sector in January of 2010. Mr. Derby has experience in the field of fire origin and cause, fire dynamics, fire technology and has conducted over ten thousand fire scene examinations. Mr. Derby has testified in numerous criminal and civil court cases in the Superior Courts of Los Angeles County, Fresno County, Monterey County, District courts in the states Connecticut, Arizona and Nevada.
