Neil entered insurance in 1991 as a graduate trainee with McLarens Loss Adjusters, having obtained a degree in Animal Biology at Sheffield University.
He joined Cunningham Lindsey in 2005 as the commercial team manager and subsequently moved into the major loss team in 2013.
