John Schaefer

Battalion Chief Schaefer has more than 17 years of experience in fire/explosion and arson
investigation. He was an investigator with the Nicholasville Fire Investigator Investigation Bureau
from 1999 to 2007 when he became the Lead for the Nicholasville Kentucky Fire Investigation
Bureau until 2014 when he became the Bureau Chief of the Nicholasville Fire Investigation
Bureau. He is a Certified Fire investigator, certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, Certified
Vehicle fire investigator, Certified Evidence Collection Technician, Certified Hazardous Materials
Technician, Certified EMT, Certified Fire Instructor, Certified Confined Space, Rope Rescue,
Trench Rescue and Level II Fire Prevention Inspector.
